It is with great honor that we welcome the 2010 Farmers Insurance Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Basketball Tournament for the first time to Shreveport-Bossier City. Held at the CenturyTel Center March 10-13, the tournament marks another great achievement in bringing quality sporting events to the Shreveport-Bossier City community.
Shreveport Mayor Cedric B. Glover said, "We are always proud to bring new events to our city, and The SWAC Tournaments will be a great family event. We first starting working on this event in 2007, and it was truly a community effort. Mayor Walker and I joined together with the Shreveport Regional Sports Authority and other local partners to help land this event."
''As Mayor of Bossier City, I am proud of the teamwork and effort by the community in bringing the 2010-2012 SWAC Tournaments to the Shreveport-Bossier area in March at the CenturyTel Center," said Bossier City Mayor Lorenzo Walker. "I urge you to support our local SWAC Schools, Grambling and Southern, as well as the SWAC Tournament beginning next month."
