What could be cooler than a farmers' market?
- Shreveport Farmers' Market continues every Saturday morning through August 29. On market Saturdays, stroll over to the Red River District for the Shreveport Artists' Market.
- The newest local farmers market, the Bossier City Farmers Market, is at Pierre Bossier Mall each Saturday from Aug. 1 to Dec. 19.

Thrill to live thoroughbred racing at Harrah's Louisiana Downs now through Saturday, Sept. 19. Bracket races featuring the best bracket racers in the NHRA Division 4 region compete for the Gold and Glory at Thunder Road Raceway's NHRA Summit Racing Series Aug. 22-23.

The Shreveport Geek'd Convention, August 21-23, features national headliners including comic book artists, stars of TV, film, and professional cos play groups. Geek’d Convention will also host a full scale cos play competition.

The best local and national musicians converge on the Highland Jazz and Blues Festival, September 19, in the historic Highland neighborhood of Shreveport. You will find five non-stop hours of jazz and blues greats on two stages, all for free.

Experience a day in the country on the Heritage and Harvest Tour, a self-guided tour of local homes, churches, cotton gins, country stores, a museum and delicious food. The festivities take place on September 26.
