    All tours will have highlights that might include shopping and eating at the Louisiana Boardwalk; tours of great museums like Southern University Museum of Art, Multicultural Center of the South, Artspace at the West Edge, Gardens of the American Rose Center, Sci-Port: Louisiana’s Science Center plus more. And you’ll never be hungry in Shreveport-Bossier. We’ll keep you full with feasts at some of the area’s best restaurants – from the locals’ favorite greasy spoons to elegant fine dining.


    Mardi Gras Madness in Shreveport-Bossier: Louisiana’s Other Side
    February 17-20, 2012

    During the Mardi Gras Madness media tour, we'll attend two major Mardi Gras parades: the Krewe of Gemini (one of Shreveport-Bossier's largest parades) and the quirky Krewe of Highland (a neighborhood parade that rolls through the historic and funky Highland neighborhood). We'll also eat at some of the most exciting restaurants in Shreveport-Bossier City, meet some local Mardi Gras personalities, and visit a few of the top arts and culture destinations in Shreveport-Bossier: Louisiana's Other Side.

    Tour participants will arrive on Friday, February 17 and depart on Monday, February 20.

    Mudbugs & More: A Foodie FAM
    May 24-27, 2012

    Every Memorial Day weekend, the Shreveport-Bossier community celebrates the humble mudbug (also known as the crawfish) at the annual Mudbug Madness Festival, a four-day explosion of zydeco music and authentic creole and cajun cuisine. Participating journalists on this food-centric tour will visit Mudbug Madness as well as a variety of Shreveport-Bossier's most acclaimed and unique restaurants, ranging from popular neighborhood bistros to the "hidden kitchens" of our community's Dominican, Mexican, and Vietnamese populations. Bring your appetite!

    Tour participants will arrive Thursday, May 24 and depart Sunday, May 27.

    Boos & Brews in Shreveport-Bossier
    October 18-21, 2012

    This truly unusual media FAM will roll two very different kinds of attraction into one. Participating journalists will visit Shreveport's BREW, a new premiere beer tasting event that showcases hundreds of hand-crafted Louisiana and Texas microbrews and homebrews. In addition, we'll tour locations known as the most haunted spots in Shreveport-Bossier and dine at local restaurants where the food is so good, it's scary.

    Tour participants will arrive on Thursday, October 18 and depart on Sunday, October 21.

    Holiday Trail of Lights 2012

    Catch the holiday spirit on the Holiday Trail of Lights, a celebration connecting eight cities in northern Louisiana: Shreveport-Bossier City, Minden, Monroe-West Monroe, Natchitoches, and Alexandria-Pineville. Tour participants will get a whirlwind tour of the holiday-themed attractions offered by each of these charming and inviting cities. We'll also sample the culinary traditions, shopping, and cultural attractions of each city along the way.
