Rockets Over the Red Fireworks Festival Planned for Saturday, November 28

Rockets Over the Red Fireworks Festival is back! Following an eight-year hiatus, this popular annual event will once again bring a holiday fireworks extravaganza to Shreveport-Bossier. Rockets Over the Red will be held at the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets, 2-7 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 28. Festivities will kick off at 2 p.m. with family-friendly live music, arts and crafts, and food vendors. A spectacular fireworks show will light up the sky at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.  

Rockets Over the Red is organized by Cumulus Broadcasting and sponsored by Presenting Sponsor Horseshoe Bossier City, as well as the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau and Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets. Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights Festivities Underway

Each year, eight Louisiana cities - Shreveport-Bossier, Minden, Monroe-West Monroe, Natchitoches, and Alexandria/Pineville - partner to promote the Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights, an exciting schedule of holiday events beginning in mid-November and running through the New Year. Some of the most exciting events of the season are just around the corner, including: Minden’s Fasching Fifth Season Celebration, Saturday, Nov. 21, in downtown Minden; the Natchitoches Christmas Festival of Lights, Nov. 21-Jan. 6, on Front Street in Natchitoches; and the 32nd Annual Christmas in Roseland, Nov. 27-Dec. 23, at the Gardens of the American Rose Society in Shreveport. What began as a booth at the Shreveport Farmers’ Market has grown into one of Shreveport’s most talked-about new restaurants. Ki’ Mexico opened in September at 3839 Gilbert Drive in Shreveport, serving a sophisticated take on authentic Mexican cuisine that features fresh seafood, traditional soups, and salads infused with Mexican flavors.

While many Mexican restaurants in Shreveport-Bossier specialize in popular “Tex-Mex” favorites such as crispy tacos, enchiladas, and refried beans, Ki’ Mexico encourages diners to experience something new.
