Holidays Hit High Gear in Shreveport-Bossier

As Christmas approaches and families gather to celebrate the holidays, a busy calendar of events provides lots of opportunities to celebrate the season in Shreveport-Bossier. From small-town festivals to gigantic shopping extravaganzas, Shreveport-Bossier’s list of holiday entertainment offerings continues to grow. Here are just a few of the upcoming festivities:

Make Plans Now to Attend Mardi Gras Bash

Are you a member of a group of 10 or more that is seeking an unforgettable, convenient and safe Mardi Gras experience? Make plans now to attend the 10th annual Mardi Gras Bash on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, in downtown Shreveport. Mardi Gras Bash tickets are $35 per person for an all-inclusive parade-day experience during the enormous Krewe of Centaur Mardi Gras parade. Admission includes exclusive access to a prime viewing location on the parade route, authentic Louisiana cuisine, live Cajun music and dancing, meet-and-greet opportunities with outrageous Mardi Gras personalities and more. 

Mardi Gras Bash was recently named one of the American Bus Association’s Top 100 Events, an honor bestowed upon the best group tour experiences in the United States. New Scenes, Art Exhibit Welcome Visitors to Christmas in Roseland

Christmas in Roseland, an annual event that transforms the Gardens of the American Rose Center into a winter wonderland with thousands of twinkling lights, dozens of lighted displays, nightly live entertainment and more, has added several new offerings for the 2014 season. In addition to new lighted scenes for visitors to enjoy, the 31st Annual Christmas in Roseland will also include an art exhibit showcasing the art of Chinese painter Chen Yuhua. This exhibit marks the first time that Chen’s work has ever been exhibited in the United States. Admission to the exhibit is free with paid admission to Christmas in Roseland.

The 31st Annual Christmas in Roseland is open 5:30-10 p.m., Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, Nov. 28-Dec. 21. Two “encore nights” will be held Dec. 22 and 23. For Christmas in Roseland admission fees and more information, visit the Christmas in Roseland website.
