Discover the arts, culture and history of downtown Shreveport during a fun, quirky contest at the Shreveport Downtown Artwalk, Wednesday, May 3. It is free to participate.
Meet at The Remington Suite Hotel & Spa between 5 and 5:30 p.m. to sign up individually or as a team of up to four. There, you’ll also pick up a map and list of clues. Participants will have two hours to find and photograph 10 items throughout Artwalk highlighting interesting facts about downtown history and the city’s art culture.
Post a photo of each item on Instagram. (You’ll have to provide your Instagram handle at check-in) and be sure to include the hashtag #BeAFanofSB to each post. The Shreveport Times will monitor the hashtag to repost the best photos on the Shreveport Times' Instagram. There also is the chance for your photos to appear on shreveporttimes.com and in a print edition of its arts, culture and entertainment section, ACE Shreveport.
Once you’ve photographed all of the items, head to Fatty Arbuckles in the Red River District.
We’ll put all the teams and individuals who photographed all 10 items in a bucket and draw for prizes at 8 p.m.
The Downtown Artwalk Scavenger Hunt is presented by the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce's YPI - Young Professional Initiative of Northwest Louisiana in partnership with Downtown Development Authority and Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau, which encourages locals to explore all of the fun things to see and do in Shreveport and Bossier City during the month of May with its Be a Fan of SB campaign.
