Elvis Presley, Hank Williams, and Huddie “Lead Belly” Ledbetter are just a few of the iconic music legends that began their careers in Shreveport. Learn why The Louisiana Hayride became known as “The Cradle of the Stars.”

Holy Trinity Church Tour
The oldest church in Shreveport. Romanesque revival design with main altar of Italian marble gives feeling of European cathedrals. More than 60 stained glass windows. National Register of Historic Places

Us Up North Cooking Demo
Enjoy a wonderful lunch or dinner that celebrates the unique flavors and culinary traditions of northwest Louisiana. This food demo will allow guests to enjoy locally sourced dishes and cooking demonstrations.

R.W. Norton Art Gallery
The museum of American and European art spanning four centuries, spotlights the Southwest’s largest permanent collection of the American Western art by Frederic Remington & Charles Russell.  The garden also comes to life every spring with one of the largest azalea gardens in the South, which adds t the museum visit. www.rwnaf.org

Krewe of Gemini Mardi Gras Museum
Enjoy a fascinating display of the history of Mardi Gras in Shreveport and Bossier City.  Exhibits include floats, Mardi Gras royalty costumes, and all the trappings of Mardi Gras festivities.
 
Barksdale Global Power Museum
A historic journey from World War I to present. Features uniforms, dioramas, a barracks exhibit dating back to World War II. Twenty-five aircraft and vehicles are on display. Open seven days a week. Gift shop. Access is through the North Gate of Barksdale AFB.

Day 2

The Art and Soul of Shreveport
Journey to discover the “Art and Soul” of the African and African American experience at Southern University Museum of Art. Explore the art and artifacts from West and South Africa. Experience the stories, sights and sounds of black life in Shreveport through the lens of art and culture.

Tour American Rose Center
Relax and enjoy the roses nestled within 118 acres of beautiful roses, jonquils, dogwoods, magnolias and more, in serene forest setting. More than 20,000 roses are spectacularly planed in 60 individual gardens.
