This scenic backway through the piney woods of Northwest Louisiana takes you through Oil City, Vivian, Hosston, Plain Dealing, Sarepta, Shongaloo, Homer and Lisbon, and connects with other alternate routes along the way. Small towns chock full of treasures, history and fine eating. Hwy. 2 through Caddo, Bossier, Webster, and Claiborne parishes.

Home dates back to 1916. Many of the original furniture and lighting pieces, working oil lamps, working transoms, push button lights, and pocket doors. By appointment only.

The Shreveport-Bossier downtown areas retain many historic landmarks, including what is widely acknowledged to be the finest collection of important 20th century architecture in the state. Map brochures available for the following tours at area visitor centers.

The Logan Mansion, a magnificent 1897 Queen Anne Victorian home, offers a narrated tour complete with ghost stories. $10 per person. Tours by appointment only. Special holiday tours on Halloween and Christmas with reservations.

Guided walking tour of the ghosts that haunt downtown Shreveport. Saturdays only, May through October. Cancelled during inclement weather.

Shreveport-Bossier have become the filming destination for some of the biggest names in the industry. Please pick up a brochure of the self-directed tour of many film sites. Historical tour of Red River and Cross Bayou. View the city from the river and see wildlife in their natural habitat. Across from Sci-Port: Louisiana's Science Center on Clyde Fant Parkway in Shreveport. Operates Thursday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, 12 noon-5 p.m. The last cruise on any day is 4 p.m. Contact Capt. Sandy Jackson at 318-564-3560.
