Shreveport-Bossier COVID-19 update: Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards has instituted a gradual reopening of many businesses with occupancy restrictions, enhanced sanitation, social distancing, personal protection equipment and other appropriate protection measures necessary to protect the health and safety of the people in Louisiana. The statewide mask mandate has been lifted. However, mask policies in Louisiana will be set by local leaders and business owners. Under the Governor’s new public health order, masks will still be required on public transit and in state government buildings, K-12 schools, early childhood education centers, colleges and universities, and healthcare facilities. Before you visit a business, please call to confirm that they are open, and to find out what restrictions are being enforced at that location.
Be a Fan Week will also run concurrent with Give for Good, North Louisiana's largest day of giving. The event was established in 2014 by the Community Foundation of North Louisiana, and since then has raised more than $12 million for the community! Give for Good allows community members to discover and engage with nonprofit organizations and contribute to causes they feel strongly about. Whether you give $10 or $10,000, you have a hand in transforming your community. Many of the local attractions are non-profit organizations and Be a Fan Week will showcase their significance in the community.
