Shreveport Spirit of the Season Offers Free Saturday Events, Nov. 26 to Dec. 17

Rockets Over the Red Fireworks Festival, presented by the City of Shreveport, kicked off the holiday season on Saturday, Nov. 26, and the fun continues on the Shreveport riverfront. For the first time, there will be an event in the Red River District and Riverview Park for three Saturdays in December. Other free Shreveport Spirit of the Season events include:

Dec. 3
Santa's Workshop, 11-3 p.m., Red River District - CANCELED
Christmas Carnival presented by Holiday Lanes and A Christmas Story movie, 4-6 p.m., Riverview Park - CANCELED

Dec. 10
Sounds of the Season, 11-3 p.m., Red River District
Red River Laser Light Show presented by SWEPCO, 4-6 p.m., Riverview Park

Dec. 17
Holiday Market, 11-3 p.m., Red River District
Wrapped in Red and Elf movie, 4-6 p.m., Riverview Park

All events are free. There will be on-site security. Ample parking is available in nearby parking garages on Clyde Fant Parkway and all downtown street parking is free.

The tree and other holiday decorations along the Shreveport riverfront were sponsored by John and Alta Franks Foundation, Downtown Shreveport Unlimited, Brown Builders, CenterPoint Energy, Capital One Bank, and Regions Bank.

Shreveport Spirit of the Season events are sponsored by Cumulus, AEP Southwestern Electric Power Company, Holiday Lanes, Andrew Kirschman Audio Productions, Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau, Sci-Port Discovery Center and the Shreveport Regional Arts Council.
