Shreveport-Bossier COVID-19 update: Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards has instituted a gradual reopening of many businesses with occupancy restrictions, enhanced sanitation, social distancing, personal protection equipment and other appropriate protection measures necessary to protect the health and safety of the people in Louisiana. Although many businesses have been approved for limited reopening, some nonessential businesses will remain closed to the public. Before you visit a business, please call to confirm that they are open, and to find out what restrictions are being enforced.
The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau launched the first-ever Be a Fan of Shreveport-Bossier Ambassador Program in 2018 to overwhelming success. The program is designed to create super fans of the area and showcase the importance of tourism and customer service excellence to a thriving Shreveport-Bossier economy. The 2019 program has continued to be very popular.
Participants include the hospitality industry, locals and civic leaders. Tour day starts with a short orientation at the Tourist Bureau offices. Then participants board a bus and tour the city. A fun quiz for prizes will be given at the end of the day, and certificates will be awarded to those who complete the program. Participants will be added to an email database and kept up to speed on upcoming things to do, volunteer opportunities and industry happenings.
