Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards took significant measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Louisiana. A statewide "stay at home" order was issued through April 30 requiring Louisiana residents to shelter in place unless going out for essential tasks, as one of the most stringent steps yet to stanch the “community spread” of COVID-19.
The Shreveport-Bossier Convention & Tourist Bureau organizes events to facilitate networking among our industry partners, to recognize the outstanding acheivements of those who serve our visitors, to promote our hotels, restaurants, attractions and events, and just to have a great time.
SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER ATTRACTIONS ASSOCIATION SEMINARS
The Shreveport-Bossier Attractions Association in conjunction with the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau provides four educational opportunities a year to help local attractions grow their customer base, enhance their marketing and improve their financial outlook. Membership in the SBAA is free, but you must be a member in good standing to attend the seminars.

DRIVER FOR HIRE HOSPITALITY WOW TRAINING
All for-hire drivers in Shreveport are required to complete a hospitality training course conducted by the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau beginning July of 2013. The training must be completed annually before they can receive their for-hire driving permit.
Training sessions will be conducted at the bureau offices at 629 Spring St. in downtown Shreveport. On the second Thursday of each month the session runs from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. On the fourth Thursday of each month the session runs from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Second Thursday sessions will not be held in November and December.
There is no charge for the training, but each class is limited to the first 20 registrants. The deadline for registration is 24 hours before each training session starts. Drivers MUST register online at drivertraining.eventbrite.com and only those who are pre-registered will be allowed to attend the session.
Registrants must arrive at least ten minutes before the start of training. Late arrivals will not be admitted. Any driver who is not in the training room by the official start time of the session will have to reschedule for a future date. Parking is the responsibility of the driver.
The driver should be attentive and bring a pen and paper for note taking as there will be a test at the end of the training that must be passed to receive the training certificate.

The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau is proud to present the annual P.R.I.D.E. Awards Banquet to recognize excellence in the hospitality industry. This event is held in May each year in conjunction with National Tourism Week.
This annual event is your opportunity to recognize excellence in your employees. A link to the nomination form will be provided when nominations open. You will be able to purchase your tickets online. Tickets must be purchased by the deadline. There will be no ticket sales after the deadline and no ticket sales at the door.
CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE
The Shreveport-Bossier Convention & Tourist Bureau holds its annual Christmas Open House on the first Friday in December. The 2016 Christmas Open House is Friday, Dec. 2, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Make plans to come by for this festive event. Have some delicious food and mingle with our hospitality industry partners. THEMED MEDIA TOURS
