The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau won a Love Our Byways – Conservation and Beautification Grant from the Toyota Motor North America and National Scenic Byway Foundation to update two local parks on the Boom or Bust Byway.
On Saturday, Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. we will host byway clean-ups and placement of eight new picnic tables along the Boom or Bust Byway. Robert L. Nance Park located at 14770 Odom Road in Hosston and Plain Dealing Lake Park located at 199 Lake Farm Road in Plain Dealing will each receive four tables.
Volunteers are sought to clean up the areas near the parks then enjoy a complimentary fish fry. Free t-shirts will be given to each volunteer, as well as trash collection tools.
