Join the hospitality industry in taking ownership of the area around your hotel, attraction or restaurant by removing nearby trash and debris that piles up and makes a negative first impression on visitors. You can gather a team of people and pick up trash any day from April 7 to April 13. There will be several assigned dumpster locations since this is a project of the national Great American Cleanup on Saturday, April 13.
The national Great American Cleanup is a project of Keep America Beautiful. The goal of the campaign is to engage volunteers and participants in public space cleaning. Shreveport Green is leading the charge locally to spruce up Shreveport.
Let’s work together and clean up our sister cities! T-shirts and cleanup supplies will be available for pick up the Downtown Shreveport Visitor Center located at 629 Spring Street in Shreveport. Trash drop-off locations will be assigned once your team signs up.
Special awards will be presented at this year’s annual P.R.I.D.E. Awards Banquet on Thursday, May 9 at Horseshoe Casino and Hotel to two teams that submit the most unusual trash pick-up photos. For more information or to submit your photo for consideration of a P.R.I.D.E. Award, please contact Charlie Rice at crice@sbctb.org or call 318-429-0657.
