Shreveport-Bossier COVID-19 update: Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards has instituted a gradual reopening of many businesses with occupancy restrictions, enhanced sanitation, social distancing, personal protection equipment and other appropriate protection measures necessary to protect the health and safety of the people in Louisiana. Although many businesses have been approved for limited reopening, some nonessential businesses will remain closed to the public. Before you visit a business, please call to confirm that they are open, and to find out what restrictions are being enforced.

Trapped Truth Society


The Trapped Truth Society is a poetry and prose reading group of original work or someone else's work. An off-shoot of the Upper Gladstone Poets, it has been in its reincarnated state since August 1991.

Society members have won approximately 20 national awards (including a Grammy nomination and a Pushcart Prize nomination), 30 regional awards, and 30 local awards (including six SRAC Literary Fellowships). Collectively, the members have more than 1,000 publication credits including three books and approximately 30 chapbooks. The society also publishes a twice yearly magazine called "Sunday at Four."

The group meets from 4-6 p.m. each Sunday at  Johnny's Pizza, 3915 Gilbert Drive, in Shreveport. Admission is FREE and no purchase is necessary, but if you would like to contribute to the group pizza or buy your own meal come prepared to do so.
