Shreveport-Bossier COVID-19 update: Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards has instituted a gradual reopening of many businesses with occupancy restrictions, enhanced sanitation, social distancing, personal protection equipment and other appropriate protection measures necessary to protect the health and safety of the people in Louisiana. Although many businesses have been approved for limited reopening, some nonessential businesses will remain closed to the public. Before you visit a business, please call to confirm that they are open, and to find out what restrictions are being enforced.

Invited media will arrive in Shreveport on Friday, Feb. 21 and will attend a float-loading party, the Krewe of Gemini Grand Parade, a Mardi Gras bal, and more before riding on a float in the huge, colorful Krewe of Highland Parade on Sunday, Feb. 23. Please note that this trip does require moderate to strenuous physical activity, including boarding and riding a float in a Mardi Gras parade.

Eat Here: A Culinary Tour of Shreveport-Bossier

Shreveport-Bossier is home to one of the most fascinating and diverse food and drink scenes in the South. From roadside Louisiana seafood joints to contemporary cuisine, acclaimed craft breweries, innovative farm-to-table dining experiences, and more, the northwestern corner of Louisiana is bursting with creative energy. Visiting media who are invited to participate in Eat Here: A Culinary Tour of Shreveport-Bossier will receive a crash course in what makes Shreveport-Bossier's food and drink community so special.    

Media tour participants will arrive on Thursday, June 4 and depart following brunch on Sunday, June 7. Priority will be given to applicants from Shreveport-Bossier's drive markets, including cities like Dallas-Ft. Worth, Houston, Austin, New Orleans, and others. No spouses, children or traveling companions will be accommodated due to limited seating. For invited participants, costs including travel, accommodations and meals will be covered.

This itinerary can be expected to include haunted houses, rural restaurants, zip-lining over live alligators, and more. Please note that this trip will require mild to medium physical exercise, including the climbing of steps.
