February 9-12, 2018
Maximum number of participants: 4
Shreveport-Bossier knows how to celebrate Mardi Gras, and four journalists will be treated to an over-the-top experience that matches the flavor of Mardi Gras in the northwest Louisiana sister cities.
The media tour will include a spot at the Krewe of Gemini Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018. The next day, journalists will get to ride in the Krewe of Highland Parade. Yes, you read that right! Journalists will join in the Mardi Gras fun riding on a float and tossing beads to thousands of screaming parade-goers in the Krewe of Highland Parade.
This tour will also include stops at some of the most popular local restaurants, as well as hands-on activities at attractions.
Please note that all media tour applicants are vetted on a case-by-case basis in an effort to ensure that all media tours are successful, enjoyable and productive experiences. Journalists in driving distance to Shreveport-Bossier will be given first priority. This is an all-inclusive media tour. Journalists are expected to write, photograph and promote their experiences in traditional media outlets and on social media channels.
