Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau update: Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards took significant measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Louisiana. A statewide "stay at home" order was issued through April 30 requiring Louisiana residents to shelter in place unless going out for essential tasks, as one of the most stringent steps yet to stanch the “community spread” of COVID-19.
All successful meetings need the perfect venue. The 350,000-square-foot Shreveport Convention Center is designed to accommodate large expos, state and national association annual meet-ups, religious conferences, board meetings, and sports events.
The Shreveport Municipal Auditorium is a world-class entertainment venue. Its claim to fame is giving Elvis Presley a platform to launch his career. Today, the venue is used for concerts, cotillions, receptions, meetings, and other events.
The Bossier Civic Center is ideal for smaller groups, luncheons, and reunions. It has a 24,000-square-foot convention and exhibit hall, 7,500-square-foot banquet hall, and five meeting rooms.
CenturyLink Center, a 14,000-seat arena, is a great concert and event venue. Its space can be easily configured for amateur and professional sporting events, banquets, and religious conferences.
Several of the casinos, full-service hotels and attractions offer meeting space, too. Be sure to check out the Meeting Facilities Guide to compare venues. Ask about the Rewards Program to reap value and savings.
