Old-School Italian Dinners

Remember the red and white checkered tablecloths with the old Chianti bottle that had years of colorful candle wax dripping on it from many a moonlit meal at your favorite little out-of-the-way Italian restaurant? Well-known restaurateur Chef John Carriere is bringing these “Old-School Italian Dinners” back as an ongoing, once-a-month dinner series that will kick off during the 2018 318 Restaurant Week on Tuesday, March 13. These classic Italian dinners will offer not only Italian foods from Northern and Southern Italy but will also feature something to learn about Italy and its culture and influence on America. Many of the items will feature a little Cajun twist to them, as well. Each month guests can expect some lagniappe knowledge and entertainment about Italy. It may be a mini Italian Opera performance, a paired Italian wine tasting, learning Italian phrases, or a guest speaker that will talk about Italian art and history. Either way, it will be an evening to satisfy your appetite as well as your brain!
