Located in northwest Louisiana, Shreveport-Bossier is a special blend. It’s part Cajun, because of its Louisiana roots, and part Texan because of its close proximity to Texas. This meshing of cultures makes it a cultural focal point of the region known as the Ark-La-Tex.
People know these sister cities for their gaming action with five riverfront casinos lining the banks of the Red River. But the destination is fast becoming known for its year-round festivals and events that pull people from everywhere to enjoy the indulgence of Mardi Gras, the spicy experiences of the Mudbug Madness Festival, the rural charm of the Sunflower Trail and Festival, or the lights, camera, action experience known as Prize Fest.
The Society of American Travel Writers (SATW) Central States Chapter meeting will be held here February 15-18, 2023. SATW members will be treated to the ultimate Mardi Gras experience, getting an up-close and personal experience at the Krewe of Gemini Parade on Saturday, Feb. 18. The conference will offer a well-crafted professional development line-up, as well as city tours that focus on music heritage, culinary experiences, and meetings with locals, who make the community truly special.
Shreveport-Bossier is easily accessible via I-20 and I-49. The Shreveport Regional Airport is serviced by American Airlines, United Airlines, Allegiant Airlines, and Delta Airlines and is located only 10 minutes from downtown Shreveport.
No refunds on conference registration will be issued after Friday, January 27, 2023. After that date, any cancellations will be nonrefundable.
