Paradise is described as a very beautiful, pleasant and peaceful place that seems to be perfect. So it’s no wonder that Shreveport and Bossier City’s moniker is Sportsman’s Paradise. It has a lot to do with the natural beauty and outdoor activities that abound in northwest Louisiana.

The many lakes, bayous, river and parks give visitors a chance to soak up the natural beauty of the area while providing plenty of things to do. Outdoor enthusiasts can zip-line over alligators, hit a hole-in-one at a golf course, or fulfill a need for speed at a racetrack. Area parks provide a great place to retreat, too.

At Gators and Friends Adventure Park, guests can zip-line over alligators, pet a baby alligator, ride ponies, enjoy a petting zoo, and race high-speed go-karts with speeds up to 40 mph.

At Chimp Haven, visitors can observe rescued chimpanzees in their natural, forested habitats at this 200-acre refuge and discover the wonders hidden in the nature trail. Chimp Haven is only open for Chimpanzee Discovery Days. Visit the website for 2018 dates.

Come to Splash Kingdom Waterpark to enjoy cool summer attractions like the Bonzai thrill slide, two kids’ areas, lazy river and wave pool. The waterpark offers free tubes and life vests. The park is open May through September.

Discover for yourself why Shreveport and Bossier City is a Sportsman’s Paradise.
